Biomedical Tech Specialist III

  • JOB SUMMARY:

    Responsible for the support of the medical instrumentation and certain communication systems used within Livingston HealthCare. This position requires a high degree of skill in the use of test equipment, schematics and service manuals. Specialized training and experience on Radiology, Laboratory, or Communication equipment utilized within Livingston HealthCare required.

    Schedule:

    • 1.0FTE (40hours)
    • Mon-Fri
    • Call Required

    Compensation:

    • $30.07 DOE

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Perform predictive maintenance, electrical safety inspections, and complex repairs on medical instrumentation and the following communication systems: Telecommunications, Nurse Call, Paging, and RF/Two Way Radio Communications.
    2. Complete requisitions and orders for repair parts and department supplies.
    3. Coordinate repairs with outside firms.
    4. Responsible for maintaining knowledge of disaster/emergency procedures and plans as they pertain to medical equipment and communication systems.
    5. Present staff training sessions and in-services.
    6. Participate in the selection of new clinical systems and equipment.

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Supervise the work performed by BMET I, BMET II, and BMET III positions as needed.
    2. Perform other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
    3. This position may be required to work varying shifts, weekends or holidays.

    QUALIFICATIONS (Required):

    1. High School graduate or equivalent.
    2. Associates Degree in Electronics or Biomedical Equipment Technology.
    3. An understanding of Electronic and Biomedical Test Equipment.
    4. 6 years of experience as a Biomedical Equipment Technician or equivalent work experience.
    5. Manufacturer training and/or advanced knowledge on Radiology, Laboratory, or Communication equipment used within Livingston HealthCare.
