EHR Support Specialist - Full Time

  • Job Summary: 

    Under the supervision of the VP of Clinical Applications, this position will provide at the elbow support for the end users of the EHR System within the organization. Must be flexible, will include some evening and weekend hours. Position requires 100% travel to NOMS outlying offices, which may include overnight stays. 

    Your Day to Day & Essential Functions: 

    1. Provide at the elbow support to NOMS current and new offices on a regular cadence determined by management.

    2. Be available for emergent at the elbow support. 

    3. Instruct training program for new and established team members and support the on boarding of new provider offices.

    4. Review, evaluate, and test new software and software upgrades.

    5. Implement approved process flows with team members.

    6. Identify, troubleshoot, resolve workflow questions within the offices through taking helpdesk calls and rounding within offices.

    7. Work closely with the analyst team and/or vendor helpdesk to resolve software problems.

    8. Maintain excellent customer service while working with NOMS physicians and team members. 

    9. Ensures that the software functions efficiently daily and remains in safe functioning condition.

    10. Stays abreast of leading-edge information technology, communications, and healthcare software applications.   

    What You Need to Succeed:

    1. Knowledge of electronic medical record processes, problem identification, medical data processing practice.

    2. Skill in performing as programmer/analyst to resolve problems requiring critical thinking, coordinate simultaneous efforts, recover from data loss, speed up development, improve program efficiencies.

    3. Ability to be oriented to end-user support needs across multiple sites.

    4. Strong leadership and communication skills, both written and oral.   

    Education and Experience:  

    1. Associates degree in information systems, business or technical field preferred.

    2. Minimum of three (3) years progressively responsible experience in information systems.  Health care setting preferred.

    3. Knowledge of Epic Ambulatory systems and workflows. 

    Other:

    1. Must be flexible, will include some evening and weekend hours.

    2. Position requires 100% travel to NOMS outlying offices, which may include overnight stays. 

    Environmental/Working Conditions:

    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones. Minimal exposure to communicable diseases.

    Physical/Mental Demands:

    Normal office environment. Work is typically performed at a desk or table requiring the use of standard office equipment.  Intermittent sitting, standing and stooping.    May view computer screen for long periods of time.  Work may be stressful at times.  Interaction with others is constant and interruptive.
