Collections Specialist - Healthcare jobs in Santa Ana, CA

ABOUT THIS ROLE:

We are a dynamic growth oriented law firm with multiple entities and services lines in search of a talented, motivated, and experienced accounts receivable and collections individual. This is a great opportunity to bring your expertise in collection management to develop and shape a new department within the company. This will be a highly visible role where you can show off your great communications skills and technical abilities in dealing with a high level of transactions. You will be leading the collection efforts working closely with our valued clients, the accounting team, the attorney team, and senior management in resolving problems, identifying improvements and processes. This is a role up your sleeves position that will also be called upon to help others when in need.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

• Manage all aspects of the accounts receivable functions for multiple companies and spearheading AR clean-up projects

• Research and resolve partial payments and billing errors or discrepancies

• Interface and coordinate with billing team to resolve discrepancies with respect to invoice status

• Manage past due accounts receivable invoices and actively follow up with customers to resolve payment issues

• Answer client questions about their accounts in a timely manner

• Develop, implement and execute ongoing accounts receivable processes and controls

• Process and apply daily client payments

• Prepare bank deposits and reconcile to ledger

• Reconcile daily billing and cash application to ledger; resolve discrepancies with the Accounting Manager and Data Operations team

• Reconcile status of invoices uploaded to various client systems

• Prepare monthly statements to send to clients

• Prepare cash report

• Calculate and report DSO; maintain DSO at optimum levels

• Reconcile various weekly reports and report results

These duties are not exclusive and with consideration of the job requirements and employee’s skills, the job description can be added to or taken away from at the discretion of the employee’s manager

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or associate degree preferred

• 3-5 years of progressive relevant experience in collections

• Law firm experience highly desired

• Prior billing experience in law firm ideal

• Ability to communicate positively, clearly, professionally, and personable in both written and verbal communication channels

• Ability to create, draft and document policies and procedures

• Case Aware experience a plus

• QuickBooks experience a plus

• Advanced Excel skills

• In office work; Santa Ana/Tustin area

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
