    What are we looking for in an Engagement Specialist?

    The Engagement Specialist serves as a primary resource to clients who need additional support to maintain active involvement with treatment. Working with clients who have irregular attendance at scheduled appointments, the Engagement Specialist will identify barriers to treatment and provide necessary support and accommodations to better engage the client with services. This could include contacting clients after missed appointments to quickly reschedule, identifying transportation alternatives, updating contact information, assisting with problem solving around attendance, and providing referrals to other community resources to support needs that have been going unmet. The Engagement Specialist position requires excellent listening and communication skills, the ability to quickly build rapport with people of all backgrounds, and the ability to solve problems creatively. This position has a Monday-Friday 8am-5pm schedule and must be on-site in one of our clinics; however, the person hired for this role may choose a work site in any of our outpatient clinic locations.

    Engagement Specialist duties may include:

    • contacting clients who have missed appointments to screen for potential barriers and develop an attendance plan, including rescheduling appointments and providing immediate support to maintain engagement
    • assisting new clients with completing screening and enrollment paperwork prior to the intake assessment appointment
    • providing referrals and information about other programs and services in the community when appropriate
    • maintaining contact with clients between intake and first appointment to provide support and ensure early engagement with treatment
    • coordinating with clients who present without an appointment to ensure they are seen by an available clinician
    • screening clients for emergent issues and referring to clinical staff as needed
    • supporting program goals of same-day access and first appointment-to-engagement-of-treatment within four business days
    • completing all documentation in a respectful, client-centered manner

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or related field
    • Must be eligible for registration as Agency Affiliated Counselor
