  • SUMMARY
    Responsible for providing executive-level leadership and guidance to CHSGa’s human resource operations. This position is also responsible for planning, organizing, developing, coordinating, directing and evaluating human resources guidelines, programs and practices in accordance with CHSGa’s mission and applicable federal, state, and local laws, standards, guidelines, and regulations, and as directed by the Senior Vice President of Human Resources for CHSGa.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Collaborates with Senior Vice President of Human Resources and other executive leadership to define the long-term mission and goals of CHSGa’s workforce.
    • Promotes equal opportunity and diversity, manages labor and employee relations, and re-engineers processes for efficiency.
    • Identifies key performance indicators for CHSGa’s workforce functions; assesses CHSGa’s success and market competitiveness based on these indicators.
    • Develops short and long-term strategies and programs for assessing and improving CHSGa’s associate experience.
    • Assists CHSGa leadership, as needed, in assessing present and future needs, trends, problems and opportunities for CHSGa’s workforce.
    • Maintains knowledge of federal and state labor laws, OSHA, EEO, compensation and payout requirements and any other laws regarding employment.
    • Interprets organizational guidelines, procedures, and laws pertaining to employment and associate relationships.
    • Develops recommendations for revisions to CHSGa’s associate guidelines, procedures, forms and associate handbook; reviews guidelines at least annually.
    • Provides day-to-day leadership and oversight of Directors of Human Resources consistent with the mission, vision and values of CHSGa.
    • Investigates associate concerns and mediates management/associate issues as needed.
    • Reviews and advises on personnel actions including performance adjustments, promotions, transfers, corrective actions, and evaluations.
    • Assists the Compensation Manager with the development and maintenance of written job descriptions and wage scales in accordance with applicable state and federal employment laws.
    • Coordinates and assists with administration of the CHSGa Compensation Program and other associate rewards and recognition programs as directed.
    • Oversees/coordinates general associate orientation and makes suggestions for modifications as needed.
    • Coordinates human resources related associate training programs (non-job specific) and provides leadership and support to the organization’s managers in assessing human resources related training needs.
    • Monitors and provides guidance to ensure performance evaluation standards are effective and recommends revisions to tools and process as needed.
    • Supports recruitment and retention efforts for CHSGa.


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
    • Masters or Law degree preferred
    • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Human Resource Management.
    • Preferred certifications:
                o Professional in Human Resources (PHR)
                o Society of Human Resources Certified Professional (SHRM-CP)
                o Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR)
                o Society of Human Resources Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP)

      
    • Human Resource Management experience in a healthcare organization preferred
    • Workday HCM experience preferred
    • Ability to work a demanding, primarily self-directed work schedule
    • Exceptional organizing and planning skills
    • Ability to lead others in the adoption of technology, at a minimum human resource information systems (Workday)
    • Ability to deliver excellent customer service, externally and internally as well as maintain customer confidentiality
    • Valid Driver’s License and ability to travel regularly to various locations across the state
