General Purpose:
The Vice President of Retail Operations will manage logistics, warehouse, and transportation functions that facilitate the donation and sale of goods in retail centers, and will oversee the growth of e-commerce, recycling and post-retail processing to meet the organization’s revenue and sustainability goals.
Essential Functions:
- Oversee logistics, salvage, and grading teams in the warehouse to develop and execute operating plans that will deliver financial goals and control costs.
- Strategically plan and execute e-commerce and outlet revenue growth; partner with SVP Retail Stores to implement SOPs and product workflows that will channel goods to these business centers; provide stores with training and equipment to meet the standards.
- Implement a consistent, on-time and cost-effective transportation model that serves the needs of the business to flow product and equipment among sites.
- Operate a warehouse distribution center that utilizes space and storage efficiently, with a clearly defined floor plan that is consistently monitored and reset to standards.
- Implement process for daily audits and corrective action of warehouse operations and safety by warehouse management.
- Partner with Real Estate & Facilities departments in the site selection and establishment of donation centers; participate in the site selection and operational launch of new or relocated stores.
- Implement systems to collect and manage data on salvage and donation volume flowing from facilities; use data to ensure that outlets are served with product and to forecast salvage revenue.
- Develop and execute business strategies to reduce waste, reuse product, and recycle unsold goods.
- Oversee the distribution of stored donations (including the purchase and distribution of credentials) to retail stores.
- Continually assess Retail’s operations framework, including the flow of goods, logistics routing, facility layouts, operational and technology efficiencies, and evaluate results against industry benchmarks. Propose integrated solutions to increase efficiency and value to customers.
- Conduct ongoing site visits and engagements with field teams to maintain a thorough understanding of steady state operations.
- Partner with SVP of Retail Stores and District Managers to evaluate store production layouts and to procure equipment that facilitates efficiency.
- Collaboratively establish goals for financial and operational performance; partner with IT, analytics, and financial business partners to design measurement tools; reinforce a shared understanding and focus on key performance metrics.
- Deploy model for staffing and employee development that supports each business center to achieve operational performance and cultivates ownership and commitment of on-site teams.
- Provide clear and consistent communication to all warehouse and retail business teams regarding operating procedure, expectations, and results.
- Cultivate a positive coaching culture for warehouse, e-commerce, and outlet business employees that reinforces continuous improvement and rewards performance.
- Lead performance management process for employees and partner with HR to implement training and development tools.
- Partner with HR and Finance teams in the recruitment, hiring, retention, and training of warehouse, e-commerce, and outlet business employees.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and security policies and procedures in the warehouse.
- Adhere to all the company's and personnel policies and procedures; follow good safety and security practices including reporting safety hazards and injuries to the Manager, HR, and/or Job Coach if applicable.

Qualifications:
The following qualifications are required:
- Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree in business, operations management, or related field preferred.
- Three to five years of direct experience managing a retail backroom and/or warehouse operation and staff
- Minimum three years of experience in a leadership position
- Experience in managing budgets and operational data analysis
- Inventory management experience
- Logistics and transportation management experience
Skills Required:
- Demonstrated ability to establish, apply, and evaluate operating standards in an organization.
- Results-driven leader with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of financial and operational metrics
- Strong proficiency in Excel with an ability to analyze operational data to forecast financial performance.
- Experience in business process reengineering, preferably in the domains of logistics or operations.
- Ability to manage teams through change, identify and test innovative approaches, and engage staff in improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrable organizational, professional, problem solving, and customer service skills, and ability to facilitate collaboration across multiple teams.
- Ability to think strategically and deliver outcomes with minimal oversight.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Enthusiasm for the mission of the Company, and sensitivity to working with individuals of multiple abilities.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $130,000.00 per year
