Saint Joseph's College is looking for an Instructor to lead a class of students who are enrolled in a College Composition course. An ideal candidate will build a solid foundation of knowledge to advance student understanding of the field and serve as a catalyst of self-development by functioning as a role model in the classroom.

Course Description

Development of skills necessary for expressing oneself competently through writing. Emphasis is on the writing process, critical thinking, sensitivity to audience, core documentation skills and responsibilities, and revision (with peer and instructor feedback).

Essential Functions:

• Prepare and deliver lectures to students
• Evaluates interpersonal skills, technical skills and knowledge base of students in the classroom to measure student performance
• Facilitates student’s engagement, participation and discussion
• Responsible for all classroom supplies and materials instituting necessary action for any losses and documents any replacement/upgrade needs
• Grading all student work and submitting final grades and attendance rosters to Program Director
• Remains current on all state regulations and training standards
• Teach classes at the scheduled time and place to meet required contract hours
• Responsibilities maybe adjusted at the discretion of the Program Director

Class Schedule

• In-person
• Hybrid/online possible

Minimum Qualifications:

• Applicants must hold a Master’s degree
• Transcripts must reflect 18 graduate credits in the field
• Reliably commute to campus during scheduled class times, if teaching an in-person course
