The Area Office on Aging is dedicated to helping older adults and people with disabilities remain happy, healthy, and at home in the ten (10) counties we serve. In addition, the AOoA is in the planning stages of moving to a 4-day workweek. We intend to implement the 4-day workweek beginning April 1st fully.
JOB SUMMARY
This role is pivotal in advancing the organization’s strategic objectives and fostering alignment across departments and programs. Key responsibilities include evaluating opportunities, formulating implementation strategies, and optimizing resource allocation to achieve organizational success. The ideal candidate possesses robust analytical abilities, a strategic mindset, and effective collaboration skills with diverse stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Lead and manage strategic initiatives, ensuring timely execution and alignment with overall agency objectives.
- Evaluate potential opportunities to determine their alignment with the agency’s vision and strategic plan goals.
- Connect agency strategic goals with measurable departmental and program objectives.
- Assess, propose, and recommend effective strategies for departments and programs to enhance coordination, collaboration, and productivity in serving older adults, their family caregivers, and younger individuals with disabilities
- Foster a well-coordinated and collaborative environment to better serve older adults, family caregivers, and individuals with disabilities.
- Analyze budget and projection reports to identify areas of concern. Offer recommendations to reduce expenses and boost revenue while aligning with strategic goals and the program/department mission.
- Translate financial data into guidelines for staff allocation by funding source.
- Provide recommendations to department/program leadership on optimizing resource utilization.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in a relevant field (business administration, organizational development, public administration, education). Minimum of five years of management experience in government or non-profit organizations. Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills. LEAN Six Sigma Black Belt Certification is preferred, demonstrating the ability to optimize organizational processes for efficiency.
Weekly Schedule
- Currently – Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours/day, 37.5 hours/week
- 4-day schedule – Either Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday, 8.5 hours/day, 34 hours/week
