    The VPFO reports to the President and works collaboratively with the Executive Council members, the Board of Directors and its committees, faculty, staff, students, parents, volunteers, donors and external stakeholders for the furtherance of Chaminade's mission. The VPFO manages Finance, IT, Financial Aid, and Facilities, with high performing Directors over each of these operational areas, and a total staff of 33.

    Minimum Education and Experience:

    • Ten years of experience running all aspects of an organization's non-educational operations, preferably in a complex enterprise; previous experience in a COO or CFO role highly preferred.
    • Seven to ten years of experience with or knowledge of local, state and federal business law and nonprofit accounting, including fund and grant accounting, compliance and reporting

    • Ability to maintain confidential information, including information related to finances, students, parent/guardians, employees, donors, alumni, legal matters and similar.

    • Ability to collaboratively engage, influence and forge productive relationships with school leadership, board and committee members, employees, parents, volunteers, donors, community groups and government representatives;
    • Reasonably conservative financial management philosophy and practice;
    • Ability to assume responsibility and work without direct supervision, exercising initiative and good judgment with consideration of potential risks and rewards when making decisions;
    • Commitment to continued professional growth and development in order to maintain and upgrade relevant knowledge, skills, and abilities;
    • Ability to travel locally, regionally, and nationally;
    • Ability to work weeknights and weekends as needed; and
    • Proficient in use of core Microsoft Office 365 programs, including Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint and Outlook, along with Adobe Acrobat and office equipment.

    Licenses and Certifications:

    • CPA Preferred
    • CPR/First Aid/AED certification upon hire or within 30 days of employment.
    • Virtus certification upon hire or within 30 days of employment.
    • Workplace harassment training within 6 months of employment.

    Salary Range and Benefits

    $200,000 to $300,000, 100% employer paid HMO medical, dental, and vision for employee, 403b plan matching up to 6%.
