Great things are happening at Peru State College! We have two new buildings going up, we are starting the process to renovate two more, we have launched a new Online Education Division, and we just converted our eighth building to geothermal heating and cooling—with a lot more initiatives under way. We are searching for a Vice President for Administration and Finance who can oversee all our financial processes and manage the construction projects, with help from the Leadership Team and the Nebraska State College System Office.
Under the supervision of the President, the VPAF provides vision and leadership to ensure the College’s financial success. A key member of the Cabinet, the VPAF works collaboratively with Cabinet colleagues, administrators, faculty, staff, and students to support a student-centered culture of engagement while managing the financial offices, the facilities team, and information technology.
As the College’s chief business and financial officer, the VPAF is responsible for developing and overseeing policies, procedures, and systems that effectively steward Peru State’s human, physical, and financial resources. The VPAF provides strategic, service-oriented leadership for the College’s ongoing efforts to pursue innovative business solutions and develop operations that enhance revenue and improve efficiency, leading to more cost-effective administrative practices. The VPAF serves as the principal strategic advisor to the President on budget and business planning and operations. The VPAF must be committed to accountability and fiscal stability and dedicated to the student-focused educational mission of Peru State—we don’t succeed if they don’t succeed. The position requires a leader with vision, integrity, and energy, along with the ability to manage positively in an environment that places a strong emphasis on cooperation, collegiality, team development, and inclusion.
Responsibilities include:
- Serve as the principal staff officer responsible for coordination, interpretation, and analysis of financial information required by the State College System Office, and for compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Lead the College’s efforts to implement its new master plan for the campus and initiate and coordinate multiple activities and programs as part of that plan.
- With support from the System Office and from Peru State Facilities, oversee facilities planning and construction, including major construction/renovation projects and initiatives.
- Prepare financial reports, the biennial budget request, and the annual budget. Oversee all College audits. Recommend budget and resource allocations. Create and implement initiatives to maintain and strengthen the quality of business services.
- Oversee the Budget Director, Accounting, Information Systems, and One Stop.
- Implement and interpret the policies and procedures of the College and the Nebraska State College System.
- Offer recommendations and advice to improve fiscal responsibility and ensure compliance with State and Federal programs.
