Position Summary: The Vice President, as the chief academic officer, is responsible directly to the President for the planning, development, administration, supervision, and evaluation of the total College instructional program. The Vice President will provide leadership and supervision for all academic divisions, Academic Support Center, Adult Education, Continuing Education including our Business Training Center, Distance Learning, Institutional Effectiveness, and will serve as chief advisor to the President in the formation of policies affecting all instructional programs. As the chief academic officer, this individual has direct responsibility for the development, coordination, staffing, evaluation, and enhancement of academic programs, as well as research, instructional/institutional planning, and budgeting within the context of the College’s missions and goals.
Qualifications: Required: Doctorate Degree; minimum of four years of experience in an administrative capacity; experience working with collective bargaining; at least four years of teaching experience at the College level; experience in budget/grant writing management and higher education accreditation procedures and program review. Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills, with ability to effectively articulate instructional needs and address college-wide issues; openness and the ability to inspire trust and loyalty among colleagues and the College community; demonstrated commitment to the use of technology and an ability to facilitate faculty development in innovative methods of instructional delivery that leads to student learning; demonstrated record of encouraging development of standards for student learning and the use of assessment for the improvement of educational outcomes; demonstrated creativity in faculty development efforts and ability to provide a supportive learning-centered environment for students and faculty. Preferred: A record of progressively increasing levels of responsibility, and previous leadership experience working with the Higher Learning Commission regarding the College Accreditation Process.
