    Job Description

    As a member of the Academic Affairs team, the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs reports to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, and is responsible for supporting efforts for Faculty Affairs.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Serve as AA Representative on FPPC
    • Responsible for fielding questions and helping faculty/deans interpret and follow all Academic ISUPPs and SBOE policies.
    • Faculty Promotion and Development
    • Tenure and Promotion Review
    • Sabbatical Review
    • Emertitus Review
    • Third Year Review
    • Five Year PPR
    • Faculty-Centered Events
    • Host the ISU Tenure and Promotion Workshop
    • Co-Host the Chair Annual Meeting/New Chair Training
    • ISU New Faculty Orientation
    • ISU Distinguished Faculty Event
    • Faculty Personnel
    • Assist Provost and VP with Personnel and Faculty Grievance
    • New Chair/Program Director support
    • Council Leadership
    • Co-Lead Associate Deans’ Council
    • Regularly attend the following meetings:
      Deans Council
      Leadership Council
      Faculty Senate
      All AA meetings
    • Attend the following meetings when necessary:
      SBOE
      CAAP
      IRSA

       

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Terminal degree in related field
    • Tenured-faculty status
    • 10 years of teaching experience in higher education
    • Previous experience with faculty development leadership in higher education
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Self-directed, enthusiastic, collaborative, and detail-oriented individual with the ability to work well in a team environment

     


    Additional Information
