Commercial Credit Analyst collects, reviews, and analyzes data to prepare a detailed credit analysis that evaluates the terms and creditworthiness of commercial loan applications. Uses multiple sources of information, including financial statements, collateral appraisals, credit scores, and cash flow analysis, to assign risk ratings to loans and complete an analysis of the applicant's financial status. Being a Commercial Credit Analyst calculates debt-to-income (DTI) ratios to evaluate an applicant's ability to repay the loan. Prepares credit memos in a standardized format that includes key ratios, supporting information, an executive summary, and objective recommendations. Additionally, Commercial Credit Analyst presents credit reports to loan officers and loan committees. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Commercial Credit Analyst work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     Farm Credit Services of America (FCSAmerica) is seeking a highly driven, self-starter with strong lending skills to manage relationships with our commercial grain accounts.


    Commercial Lenders actively market specialized loans, financial products and originate and maintain a volume of loans from $50 million to $500 million for FCSAmerica’s portfolio.


    In this role, you will develop an in-depth understanding of the assigned industry along with each customer and prospect in order to provide innovative and customer centric products and services to meet the needs of these accounts. You will be responsible for sales efforts, growth of relationships within the assigned territory, credit administration, and ongoing maintenance and management of large, high-touch commercial accounts, and complex financial credit needs from $5 million to $100 million.     Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Represent the Associations for selecting large, industry-specific, and often complex commercial accounts.
    • Maintain a portfolio of approximately $150-800 million of commitments.
    • Design innovative credit packages in the $5-100 million range that meet customer and prospective customer needs.
    • Originate, structure, and make credit recommendations; and facilitate the closing process.
    • Market credit and related services directly to large commercial accounts.
    • Develop and implement business plans that will increase the market share in the assigned customer segment(s).
    • Conduct sales calls to influencers, prospects, and customers; routinely update and maintain prospect/customer marketing and call planning information on customer contact software.
    • Develop prospect and influencer lists and marketing plans.

    Travel Time

    Percentage of time required to travel during the day - 50%

    Percentage of time required to travel overnight - 50%

    Education Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or Agriculture Production preferred.

    Years of Experience

    • 8 years of experience in Lending or Credit Underwriting
    • Demonstrated abilities in strong sales, developing new business, and leadership
    • Strong passion, experience, and knowledge of the specific industry segment (i.e., swine, beef, crop and/or agribusiness).
    • Excellent negotiating and influencing skills.
    • Travel 50% of the time to meet with clients and to attend industry meetings and events is required.
