Commercial Credit Analyst collects, reviews, and analyzes data to prepare a detailed credit analysis that evaluates the terms and creditworthiness of commercial loan applications. Uses multiple sources of information, including financial statements, collateral appraisals, credit scores, and cash flow analysis, to assign risk ratings to loans and complete an analysis of the applicant's financial status. Being a Commercial Credit Analyst calculates debt-to-income (DTI) ratios to evaluate an applicant's ability to repay the loan. Prepares credit memos in a standardized format that includes key ratios, supporting information, an executive summary, and objective recommendations. Additionally, Commercial Credit Analyst presents credit reports to loan officers and loan committees. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Commercial Credit Analyst work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     Altabank, a Division of Glacier Bank, is hiring a Credit Analyst for the Orem branch.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Analyze business & personal tax returns and financial statements using spreading software programs
    • Provide informed professional opinions to bank officers regarding applicants financial/credit status
    • Prepare spreadsheets and detailed written reports to be presented in loan committee meetings for approval for both new and renewal loans
    • Track loan covenants to ensure compliance & complete other duties as assigned
    The entry-rate for this position is $21.00 /hour. All compensation offers are analyzed individually and take into consideration multiple factors including but not limited to geographic location, years of experience, and educational background.


    About You

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • One to three years of similar or related experience including experience with credit systems
    • Four-year college degree in finance or related field

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY:
    • Excellent analytical skills
    • Detail oriented
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Word
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Accounting & tax background a plus

    Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

    Specific lifting abilities required by this job include:

    The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.
