Commercial Credit Analyst collects, reviews, and analyzes data to prepare a detailed credit analysis that evaluates the terms and creditworthiness of commercial loan applications. Uses multiple sources of information, including financial statements, collateral appraisals, credit scores, and cash flow analysis, to assign risk ratings to loans and complete an analysis of the applicant's financial status. Being a Commercial Credit Analyst calculates debt-to-income (DTI) ratios to evaluate an applicant's ability to repay the loan. Prepares credit memos in a standardized format that includes key ratios, supporting information, an executive summary, and objective recommendations. Additionally, Commercial Credit Analyst presents credit reports to loan officers and loan committees. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Commercial Credit Analyst work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Sterling State Bank is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Commercial Credit Analyst. This position is full-time and is located at our Corporate Office (4200 Badger Hills Drive, NW, Rochester, MN 55901).
Qualified candidates will possess a college degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field and or equivalent work experience to include two to three years credit analysis experience along with a solid understanding of financial accounting. Strong interpersonal, communication (both written and oral), and customer service skills are a must. Knowledge of commercial real estate and corporate lending operations and regulations along with strong problem solving and analytical skills are also required.
Basic understanding of federal and state laws regarding lending practices are preferred. Ability to work with minimal direction and demonstrate proactive problem-solving skills. Ability to demonstrate effective time management and rapidly changing priorities. Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
Working knowledge of MS Office Suite and the technical ability to operate banking software and other general office equipment.
