Commercial Credit Analyst collects, reviews, and analyzes data to prepare a detailed credit analysis that evaluates the terms and creditworthiness of commercial loan applications. Uses multiple sources of information, including financial statements, collateral appraisals, credit scores, and cash flow analysis, to assign risk ratings to loans and complete an analysis of the applicant's financial status. Being a Commercial Credit Analyst calculates debt-to-income (DTI) ratios to evaluate an applicant's ability to repay the loan. Prepares credit memos in a standardized format that includes key ratios, supporting information, an executive summary, and objective recommendations. Additionally, Commercial Credit Analyst presents credit reports to loan officers and loan committees. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Commercial Credit Analyst work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     POSITION PURPOSE

    Responsible for providing servicing and administrative functions related to member business loans and participation loans. Responsible for transaction and payment processing and posting to general ledger accounts. Provides support and expertise to members, branch staff, and Commercial Lending staff regarding SAFE business services.


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

    • Manages the payment and disbursement process for business loans.
    • Posts general ledger transactions as needed.
    • Boards new loans in the DNA Fiserv system.
    • Reviews system reports as assigned and performs system maintenance as needed
    • Assists with reconciliation of general ledger accounts each month.
    • Performs loan servicing actions, as requested.
    • Processes payoff demand requests
    • Completes the closed loan process including the release of collateral
    • Prepares SBA 1502 reporting and assists with other SBA loan servicing actions
    • Communicates with members, third-party vendors, sales staff, and support staff regarding servicing actions, billing inquires and other business loan inquiries
    • Works with members and staff to obtain updated financials on outstanding loan credits.
    • Performs insurance tracking tasks and follows for outstanding file documentation
    • Assists with the annual loan review process
    • Performs post loan closing and file maintenance tasks
    • Assists with internal and external loan audits.
    • Assists with special projects, as assigned.
    • Completes other duties, as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS


    Education/Certification:

    Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or one to three years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Required Knowledge:
    Experience in general ledger reconciliations is desired. Experience with commercial loan processing or servicing is desired. Customer service experience desired. Intermediate knowledge of excel spreadsheets is desired.

    • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
    • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
