Commercial Loan Manager manages a team of commercial loan officers to build commercial loan business within a designated market. Provides operational guidance to loan officers and approves requests for loans beyond the officers' approval limits. Being a Commercial Loan Manager may personally handle the most complex loans and most difficult credit approvals. Adheres to all regulatory requirements and internal risk and operating policies and procedures. Additionally, Commercial Loan Manager builds a high-performance lending team with individual mentoring, coaching, and professional development opportunities. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Commercial Loan Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Commercial Loan Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     JOB STATUS: Non-Exempt

    JOB GRADE 9: $20.77 to $25.97 Targeted Hourly Rate

    *This position works on-site. Remote work is not available at this time.

    JOB SUMMARY:

    This employee is responsible for assisting commercial lenders in managing commercial and business lending relationships. This includes collecting documentation from borrowers, processing applications, generating loan documents, working with vendor partners, inputting loans into internal systems, and creating & maintaining loan files.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Demonstrate expertise with all commercial and business lending products, services, policies, and procedures.
    • Represent the Credit Union to the members in a courteous and professional manner and provide prompt, efficient, and accurate service.
    • Proactively assist commercial lenders with managing commercial and business member relationships.
    • Onboard all new commercial and business loans on internal systems.
    • Create commercial loan files with pertinent documentation for all new commercial and business loans.
    • Review loan packages for accuracy and to ensure that the proper documentation is in file pre-closing and post-closing.
    • Work with vendors to assist with various stages of the commercial loan process, such as title companies, appraisers, etc.
    • Routinely call borrowers to ensure that all of their financial needs are being met.
    • Obtain financial statements, tax returns, and other credit information for new and existing borrowers.
    • Monitor loan reports and work with lender to ensure that loans are being handled as agreed.
    • Manage member communication with high quality standards.
    • Collect documentation from borrowers at loan origination and periodically as required by the loan agreement.
    • Work with Business Services and other departments for servicing commercial accounts for new and existing borrowers, as needed.
    • Provide general and specific information related to credit union services or policies.
    • Respond to members' requests and inquiries and direct them to the proper person for specific information and services as needed.
    • Service new and existing commercial and business accounts as assigned.
    • Understand compliance issues and regulations, and attend training as directed or required.
    • Performs all other duties as assigned.
    • Job Related Travel - As required.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Basic knowledge of loan processing, loan documentation, and lending policy/procedures.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently with little supervision as well as in a team environment.
    • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
    • Patience, tact, enthusiasm and positive attitude toward the members and general public.
    • Strong organizational skills, attention detail, and success working with clients with diverse banking needs.

    Education/Experience:

    • Education or experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in related field plus one or more years' relevant job experience; alternatively, four plus years of progressive financial institution and lending experience.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
    • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
