    What you will Do:

    • Supporting site-level category strategy development, execution, and cost management for operating, maintenance and capital expenditures, as applicable
    • Fully utilizing the centrally developed Procurement Policy, aligned business processes and enabling systems, and the strategic procurement methodology and procedures
    • Optimizing purchasing within his/her area of responsibility for cost, delivery, and quality; demonstrate proficiency in category strategy
    • Supporting Nutrien internal customers ("end users") to meet the safety, operational, maintenance and reliability objectives of the facility and company with a positive proactive attitude
    • Facilitating and supporting end users' needs through the use of the central strategic procurement process for sourcing and buying operational, maintenance and capital goods and services as necessary, including providing appropriate and timely input to planning of day-to-day operating requirements and capital project needs; and assisting in RFx processes including developing proper scopes of work, evaluating bids, negotiation preparation and execution, completing and implementing local contracts
    • Providing procurement-specific support to local site-based end users to complete material and service requisitions correctly and completely
    • Developing, supporting, and managing local, national and international supplier relationships by conducting/leading periodic performance, business, and financial reviews with local suppliers, based on agreed upon KPIs
    • Collaboration with internal clients to understand site process, needs, goals, priorities, opportunities, scope, and technical information and manage Nutrien internal customer needs (scopes of work, specifications, volumes, price points) to improve Total Cost of Ownership models
    • Lead the development of high-quality contract strategy: spend analysis, stakeholder mapping, scope/client needs, risk assessment, supplier landscape, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), Opportunities to drive procurement value creation for the company
    • Participate in and or develop and lead Continuous Improvement initiatives aligned with site needs and priorities that create value in the following areas: Contract development and management, supplier performance and business reviews (KPI, safety, quality, productivity), market intelligence/technology & innovation, risk management, reliability & process improvement, spend analytics & recommendations, transaction automation, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis, Sustainability (ESG), Safety (SIF elimination)

    What you will Bring:

    • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in strategic procurement, strategic sourcing, category management, and or supply chain
    • Bachelor's degree; technically oriented either/or Business degree preferred. A combination of technical background experiences and advanced business skills / experiences in procurement will be considered in lieu of degree
    • Certifications in disciplines such as Procurement (SCMP/CPSM), Inventory Management (CIPS), Lean / Six Sigma, or Operational Excellencepreferred
    • Experience at in large scale manufacturing, petrochemical or oil and gas industry in category management or a senior plant buying role,utilizing SAP ECC P2P and Ariba S2C preferred
    • Practical experience with enterprise asset management (maintenance, procurement, inventory management), spend management (e.g., Oracle, OBIEE) and enterprise resource tools
    • Some quantifiable experience in the supply chain, S2C, and S2P processes and tools, competitive sourcing, supplier negotiations & contract execution, supplier relationship & contract management, and supplier risk managementpreferred
