Direct Placement position
Salary Range - $58,000.00-$70,000.00 depending on proven experience
Responsibilities of the Commodity Buyer:- Monitor the market in order to identify new opportunities for cost reductions and cost avoidance
- Manage negotiations - Direct Materials, Equipment/CapEx (when requeted)
- Scout market for regional cost competitve solutions for direct materials
- Identify preferred suppliers by commodity for North America
- Actively seek/execute cost savings and YOY agreements with supply base
- Coordinate supplier consolidation activities
- RFQ submissions, TCO review, negotiate, create contracts, issue POs and follow up
- Managing price list adjustments, based on material and currency
- Support purchasing activities for new projects
- Support Operations in the procurement activities
- Run KPI reporting/monthly report
- Meet with suppliers as necessary onsite and their faciltiies
- Monitor cost of poor quality and premium freight related to supplier and collect money back from suppliers
- Monitor price variances
- Complete other tasks to support as requested
- Maintain the company purchasing policies and practices and contribute to their continuous improvements
- Responsible for managing Cost Avoidance and IRR, ongoing with pricing adjustments, requested increases, etc.
- Complaint with corporate Code of Conduct
- Point to possible sources of danger accident avoidance behavior and report accidents
- Environmentally friendly approach
Work Experience Requirements of the Commodity Buyer:- Experience in manufacturing companies
Work Experience Preferred of the Commodity Buyer:- Technical background with knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Extended experience in Purchashing in Automotive sector
- Bachelor's degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, or related
- Experience consideration in lieu of education

Competencies Preferred of the Commodity Buyer:- Basic knowledge of core tools (PFMEA, Control Plan, 8D, MSA, APQP, SPC, PPAP, Risk-based thinking)
- Training on purchasing tools and best practices (supply chain management, negotiation)
- Familiar with SAP, ERP System
- One to two-years' experience strategic buying in the automotive and manufacturing industry
