    Job Requirements
    • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
    • Minimum of 1 to 3 years of purchasing experience
    • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and written, in a professional and respectful manner
    • Good computer skills (MS Office, Excel, AS/400)
    • Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills
    • Understands basic MRP inputs
    • Experience with contract and negotiation skills
    • Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally up to 50%
    Job Preferences
    • Proficiency in resin, colorant, die-cuts, carpet, and fasteners
    • Ability to assist in managing new programs at the plants
    • Ability to effectively negotiate with suppliers on commercial issues for the benefit of the Gemini Group
    • Ability to assess, develop, and execute common purchasing practices and procedures
    • Knowledge of inventory management and supply chain management principles
    Job Summary
    The Commodity Buyer will interact closely with all plants to support individual plant goals and have the authority to negotiate contracts and agreements for Direct and Indirect materials and components. The Commodity Buyer will assist in the strategic sourcing process and act as the central point of contact to improve supplier cost, quality, and delivery.
    Essential Job Functions
    1. Negotiate pricing and terms for critical direct and indirect material contracts.
    2. Provide input, execute, and maintain commodity strategies.
    3. Coordinate continuous improvement functions, initiate and develop cost savings opportunities and engage in problem solving activities to improve purchasing initiatives and/or company initiatives.
    4. Track total cost savings on an annual basis according to specific goals and objectives.
    5. Develop and maintain an approved supplier list, participate in sourcing recommendations based on total cost and analyzing supplier performance through supplier visits and audits.
    6. Define direct material sourcing strategy to support establishment of supply chains, maximize current and future market conditions, and define contingency planning to mitigate.
    7. Monitor/maintain production purchase order pricing and budget targets.
    8. Brings and acquires knowledge of market, suppliers, technologies and processes.
    9. Provide operations formal request-for-quote feedback based on total cost analysis.
    10. Maintain an up-to-date filing system to support ISO requirements, including internal and external audits.
    11. Collaborate with other departments and vendors to ensure the success of receiving purchases timely.
    12. Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or modified as necessary.
