The Eureka, California market has one of the most unique climates in the country. We forecast and report on everything from wildfires, thunderstorms, snow, ice, sleet, sneaker waves, marine forecasts, fog, air quality, tsunami warnings, hurricanes, and even … dare we say it – sunshine!
KIEM/KVIQ - Redwood News – located in beautiful Eureka, California is searching for our next multimedia journalist/weathercaster.
The perfect candidate isn’t just passionate about the weather but also loves telling the weather story and how it affects our viewers’ lives.
Responsibilities
· Actively keep our viewers informed about changing weather via television, online, and social media
· Shoot, write, and edit daily weather-related stories for our newscasts
· Produce graphics that tell a clear weather story
· Deliver accurate forecasts that keep our viewers safe and informed about the weather
· Develop proficiency in our current technology
· Clearly communicate the weather story daily
· On-air weather forecasting
Requirements
Degree in Meteorology or weather science preferred.
This job is physically located in Eureka, California.
Salary: $16/hour
