TITLE: Communications Director/Grant Writing

DATE: May 2024

QUALIFICATIONS: Degree in communication, digital marketing, or journalism, possessing excellent written, verbal and editing skills. Must be able to work collaboratively or independently. Must be familiar with Microsoft Office, Google Apps for Education, Adobe products, photo, and video editing software and be able to stay current with emerging technologies.

REPORTS TO: Superintendent

COMMUNICATIONS

Collaborate with Superintendent or their designee to:

• Maintain and enhance district communication with caregivers and other stakeholders
• Maintain and advance the district website by capturing and sharing the life of NS through pictures, videos and stories that are relevant in the timeframe
• Develop and maintain content for daily/weekly posts to all applicable social media and district platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, District Website, School Messenger-BrightArrow, YouTube Channel etc.)
• Develop a strategy to replace or update the current communication forms with a focus on ease of use and consistency
• Create video projects to highlight and promote the district
• Establish and maintain working relationships with local newspapers and television stations
• Update and maintain district PR print materials as needed
• Co-create Annual Progress Report (APR)
• Basic knowledge of district programs to make be able to provide clear and concise information to caregivers
• Point of communication distribution to staff and families during emergency situations
• Writing and submitting recognitions for School Board Agendas to provide consistency
• Getting information on digital signs (Eldridge & Princeton)
• Performs additional duties as assigned

GRANT WRITING

Collaborate with Superintendent or their designee to:

• Promote and oversee the SCRA and RDA grants for the district
• Provide oversight and consistency for grant writing
• Seek out grants that align with the district’s mission and needs
• Support district with implementation of grants

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Salary and work year assigned according to the Letter of Assignment.

EVALUATION:

Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Superintendent.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Medium Work - lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling 20-50 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently or up to 10 lbs. constantly. Stooping and kneeling occasionally. Reaching, talking, and hearing frequently. Must be able to remain mobile throughout the work day.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
