    We are seeking a Quality Control Specialist to join our team in our Mobile, AL office. This position includes quality control oversight of primarily our drop bury projects. In this role you will be assisting in completing drop bury work which demands strict standards and has a variety of requirements and expectations. This position also demands attention to detail as well as clear and concise reporting and communications in order for us to be successful. Experience is preferred but we will train someone who has the right background for this position.

    The Role

    • Responsible for ensuring timeliness, completeness, and accuracy of work performed by technicians.
    • Responsible for performing the inspection post install to ensure compliance to client specifications.
    • Check for proper restoration of area
    • Take photos and attach to the inspection report
    • Conduct and attend meetings as needed
    • Verify the system is complying with all safety requirements
    • Perform work in a safe manor, following all OSHA and company guidelines
    • Drive Company vehicles responsibly and safely
    • Keep assigned company vehicle interior and exterior clean and organized at all times
    • Report any vehicle performance or maintenance concerns to Supervisor/Manager immediately
    • Work hours as needed based on customer demand

    Requirements

    • Experience in the telecommunications industry preferred
    • Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
    • Ability to handle various tasks simultaneously, organize, prioritize, make decisions and work efficiently and effectively under deadlines required
    • Must have basic mechanical aptitude
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
    • Ability to learn quickly and apply that knowledge
    • Adaptability and being able to work individually and in a team environment
    • Willing to travel
    • Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to pass MVR screen
    • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background screen and drug test


    Working Conditions:

    • Exposure to dust, dirt, noise, insects, cleaning solutions
    • Work outdoors in all kinds of weather and at all times of the day or night
    • Work performed near power lines and electricity
    • Work and travel in inclement weather


    Physical Requirements:

    • Safely use weight-bearing equipment (safety harness and ladders) within the maximum weight limitations of the equipment
    • Accurately measure distances, using tapes or other measuring devices
    • Carry, climb, operate and work upon an extension ladder, (approximately 28 ft high and 75 pounds)
    • Safely use weight-bearing equipment (safety harness and ladders) within the maximum weight limitations of the equipment
    • Differentiate between different sizes and colors of wires
    • Make cable connections in tight spaces by bending, reaching, twisting
    • Operate appropriate computer or test equipment associated with position
    • Perform job from high places (i.e. poles and roofs in addition to an extension ladder)
    • Use hand tools in the manner for which they were intended including electric drills, hammers, wrenches and screwdrivers
    • Safely walk over all types of terrain in all kinds of weather while carrying tools and equipment including ladders and fully loaded tool belts
    • Work while standing 50 to 70% of the time
    • Work with small components and wire to make cable connections
