    JOB DESCRIPTION
    Summary/Objective 
    The Director of Marketing & Communications manages the communications department, including publications, public relations and graphic design, and oversees all written projects produced by the USPTA and its Divisions. This position is also responsible for the maintenance of USPTA websites, producing the monthly ADDvantage magazine, and the coordination of all member communications.

    Essential Functions
    · Produce and send out USPTA e-news & e-blasts
    · Serve as Editor for all USPTA communications including monthly ADDvantage Magazine 
    · Serve as national staff contact for 17 Division Executive Directors regarding all communication and marketing sent to the membership
    · Monitor our content management system for email communications 
    · Lead and oversee the Merchandise and Trade Show as well as the Awards Program at annual USPTA World Conference
    · Lead the creation of all World Conference related assets including signage, banners, programs, etc. as well as advertising efforts surrounding the conference
    · Work with our endorsees/partners to communicate benefits and product promotion 
    · Manage communications department staff and oversee all department projects
    · Develop marketing plans for association 
    · Update and maintain all USPTA websites
    · Serve as a member of the senior staff 
    · Serve as a liaison for the national staff on several association committees

    Required Education and Experience
    · Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field
    · 7-10 years of experience working in a management capacity in the communications field

    · Skilled in all forms of social media
    · Knowledge/experience using AP style guides
     
    Preferred Experience
    · Experience with iMIS association management software
    · Advanced Degree

    Supervisory Responsibility
    The Director of Marketing & Communications manages the public relations coordinator, graphic design specialist and communications assistant and is responsible for the performance management of those employees.

    Work Environment
    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, printers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

    Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
    This is a full-time position. Days and typical hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some night and weekend committee conference calls are required.

    Travel
    There is one week of travel required for this position to attend our annual World Conference.
