Ball-Chatham is seeking a strong Communications professional to join the Operational Leadership team
as the Director of Communications!
The Director of Communications will be accountable for the implementation of a comprehensive public relations, marketing and communications strategy for the school district. Coordinates a community relations program and related activities; provides information to others; serves as a spokesperson for the school district; and administers the school district’s information and community relations program, community outreach, business/school partnerships, etc.
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required
Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related field from accredited college or university
Experience in writing, dealing with media and public relations, events and/or promotional marketing are desired
5 Years of increasingly responsible professional experience communications, public relations and/or marketing
Must have a valid drivers’ license with willingness and ability to travel between buildings
Must be able to pass fingerprint criminal background check
Job Goal:

Special Knowledge/Skills/Requirements:
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Computer literacy, in particular and working knowledge of various processing and publication software, including Adobe Creative Suite, Google Suite, Canva, and various media platforms
Ability to work independently,
Detail-oriented and creative
Strong photography and videography skills
Solid organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong analytical, comprehension and problem solving skills.
Unwavering commitment to district’s mission and goals.
Ability to develop and maintain rapport and interpersonal relations with district stakeholders
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Ability to respect differing opinions, seek and accept constructive criticism, and handle conflict.
Ability to make sound decision based upon complete data gathered from available pertinent sources.
Knowledge of research techniques.
Current FOIA Officer certification or be willing to become certified
Grant writing experience
