As the Scientific Communications Senior Director, you will co-lead the Content Excellence team, overseeing strategic content dissemination for internal and external stakeholders. Your role will be to educate audiences through compelling scientific narratives, focusing on the ‘how’ and ‘when’ of content generation, leveraging enterprise-wide channels. This role will empower the MC&I team to ensure all content produced translates complex scientific information into compelling, tailored, and impactful messaging. 

    Accountabilities:
    You will be part of the Oncology MC&I Leadership Team and will be expected to coordinate with the publications team and GMA Medical Franchise Heads to support development of a detailed scientific communications plan. You will coach and collaborate with the Medical Communications & Information Directors to ensure effective implementation of the scientific communications plan. You will also engage with relevant stakeholders (e.g., MC&I MI Intelligence & Planning, Digital Acceleration) to ensure the scientific communications plan aligns with the broader content strategy.

    Essential Skills/Experience:

    • 10 years of relevant health scientific communications experience with demonstrated experience in drug information and Medical Communications.

    Minimum of Master’s degree

    • Proven leadership/management of Medical Information or Medical Affairs Teams or equivalent, including performance development of team members.
    • Experience in a strategic engagement role, developing communication strategies and plans to translate complex scientific information into impactful content, messaging, and materials for use across key scientific message platforms (inc. congresses), enabling engagement with a wide range of audiences. 
    • Digital comms and services experience, including experience with modular content authoring platforms and experience developing new services & programs.
    • Experience in the development of messaging frameworks and providing communications support and coaching regarding communicating TA scientific messages.
    • Results driven, understanding of the business needs and balancing that with the strategic impact of services on end user, a customer service orientation.
    • Strong influencing, networking and communication skills, working with cross-functional teams.
    • Extensive knowledge of medical resources, applicable regulations and understanding of the oncology pipeline assets.
    • Strong knowledge and application of good practices in medical enquiry management and writing medical content.

    Desirable Skills/Experience:
    • Communications Agency experience
