    Position Responsibilities Include:

    • Develop internal and external content and direct creative execution to provide consistent, targeted, and impactful messages using social media, website, imaging, brochures, email, monthly email newsletters, advertising, annual reports, videos, flyers, promotional pieces, etc. in collaboration with the Director of Development & Communications.
    • Use analytic skills and metric-driven programs (i.e., Google Analytics) to develop creative ideas, communication tactics and effective messaging goals. 
    • Maintain communications with Board Members regarding meetings, engagement opportunities, and agency updates. Coordinate Board meetings, prepare and distribute materials and record Board meeting minutes. Prepare minutes for review by Board Secretaries and Chief Executive Officer in a timely manner. Make changes to minutes as needed and distribute minutes and any follow-up materials. 
    • Cultivate and maintain Via’s donor relationships through a team approach. 
    • Manage and maintain Via’s fundraising database (DonorPerfect) including entering gifts, assisting with acknowledging donors, generating reports, and ensuring database integrity. 
    • Represent the agency at outside events to increase community support. 
    • Manage any agency special events. 
    • Manage media-related events, press releases, and press interviews in collaboration with the Director of Development & Communications. 
    • Stay informed of developments in the field of nonprofit marketing and communications to foster ideas and innovation.

    Position Requirements Include:

    • In order to be considered for this position you must submit a cover letter and resume.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is required.
    • Five to seven years of experience in communications or development is required.
    • Must care about Via’s mission to ensure people with developmental and intellectual disabilities reach their full potential.
    • Strong multi-media writing, editing, and communication skills with a strong understanding of social media platforms.  
    • Exhibit good judgment and decision-making ability.
    • Ability to prioritize, manage several different projects simultaneously, and work well with others in a diplomatic, positive style.
    • Ability to analyze key metrics and use these for strategic and data-informed communications.
    • Expertise with Microsoft Office including fluency with PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Excel. Experience with Constant Contact, Canva, Adobe Acrobat Professional, and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred. Experience with DonorPerfect is a plus.
    • Demonstrated CMS experience, WordPress preferred.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively within a larger team and with diverse groups and individuals.
    • Traveling in the community is required. Must have a valid driver’s license, personal vehicle, and appropriate vehicle insurance.
