Communications Editor Manager manages a staff of editors who write, prepare, and review content to be used in company publications. Develops, implements, and maintains editorial policies and standards and ensures conformance. Being a Communications Editor Manager reviews the team's work product and gives final approval. Acts as advisor to editing team regarding projects, tasks, and operations. Additionally, Communications Editor Manager oversees the coordination of production and distribution activities. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Communications Editor Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Communications Editor Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Requirements:

    Education: Bachelors Degree in Marketing/Public Relations or Communications or a related field required.

    Training and Experience:

    • Minimum of two (2) years marketing / public relations required.
    • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in marketing/public relations in a hospital setting preferred.
    • Must be able to follow directions and perform work according to department and hospital standards when no directions are given.
    • Demonstrates independence in professional development of continuing education.
    • Must be knowledgeable of hospital policies and procedures.
    • Must be flexible with work scheduling.
    • Ability to retrieve, communicate, and present data and information both verbally and in writing required.

    The Marketing/Public Relations/Communications Manager will maintain community relationships through marketing and public relations efforts. They shall serve as the Foundation leader for Hamilton Memorial Hospital Foundation, coordinate physician recruitment along with being responsible for developing marketing programs that will promote hospital attributes to target audiences, improve hospital perception, and protect market share.
