Duties: Oversee production of COMMERCE Magazine, the flagship publication of the Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey (CIANJ), a monthly business magazine that is produced in hardcopy and digital form. Responsibilities include researching, conducting interviews and writing original copy. Manage freelancer writers, photographers and work with layout and production team.
Location: Ability to work remote with flexible work hours. There is some travel involved to attend CIANJ meetings and functions as needed.
Job Description:
● Manages the day-to-day operations of COMMERCE Magazine and its digital/web properties
● Develop and plan eleven (11) monthly issues of COMMERCE Magazine and special issues as applicable
● Source and conduct interviews and write articles
● Interact with members to solicit editorial content
● Work with production team to create and layout each issue of COMMERCE Magazine
● Assist the sales team on securing ads
● Assign articles to freelance writer
● Interact with staff and members to support programs and initiatives
Qualifications:
Ideal candidate should have a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience in editing and managing a business related magazine or publication. Strong time management skills, ability to write, edit content, conduct interview and manage a production team.
