WWJ Newsradio 950 is seeking a highly motivated, creative person to join our award-winning mornig news team. The schedule for this job is 4am - noon, Monday - Friday. The editor/writer/producer will work with the morning show and midday show producers to set up and finalize content for newscasts. You must be able to write short, concise stories, some of which are in breaking news situations. In addition, this person must have the ability to gather information for stories via phone, social media, email, etc. Recording and editing audio experience is a must.
What You'll Do:
- write stories, reporter leads, network feeds in a timely manner
- work with the producers and coordinate live reports from the reporters in the field
- edit news copy and audio for on-air
- conduct interviews with newsmakers on a variety of stories
- find newsworthy stories each day
- develop new angles to stories
-Work well under pressure
- Must have computer and audio editing skills
-Must know the Metro Detroit area
-Must have a valid drivers license
