Position Summary/Objective:

Born Primitive is looking for a hard-working and dynamic Video Editor with a passion for creating engaging, creative, and high-quality content across our digital and social platforms. The ideal candidate is a storyteller at heart - both visually and narratively. The Video Editor will be responsible for editing both short and long form content (scripted and unscripted), as well as marketing assets for social media and paid media distribution. Experience creating digital advertisements is a must.

The ideal candidate also has experience as a video producer and videographer with familiarity in collaborating across teams to make content that is fun, interesting and innovative. This role will require the candidate to work on multiple projects at once independently without compromising the level of creativity. The ideal candidate will be proficient in all stages of post-production and can translate RAW footage in creative and innovative ways that align with Born Primitive’s brand ethos and company goals.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Editing marketing assets for advertisement purposes distributed across all Born Primitive platforms, including but not limited to Born Primitive Outdoor, Born Primitive Tactical, and the Born Primitive Podcast.

• Editing short form and long form content (scripted and unscripted) for Born Primitive’s digital platforms.

• Work alongside Born Primitive’s Creative and Marketing teams to optimize content performance.

• Manage post-production workflow from ingesting, transcoding, editing, grading, compression, exporting and final delivery.

• Maintain an organized library of raw media, projects, and final masters.

• Assist with curating a music library to be used for Born Primitive’s content that aligns with the brand ethos.

• Brainstorm content ideas that evoke the Born Primitive’s mantra, “Apparel of the Driven.”

• Occasionally travel to support commercial shoots, BTS and live events.

• Stay consistently up to date on creative trends, best practices, and editing techniques.
  
  

Required Skills and Experience:

• 3 years experience in video editing for digital delivery and various social platforms.

• Demonstrated experience cutting product-focused digital ads, short and long form branded content, and a wide variety of creative concepts for social media.

• Attention to detail with regards to color accuracy and sound design.

• Ability to create engaging motion videos from still images.

• 3 years Experience in Adobe Premiere Pro and Media Encoder (CC).

• Experience with Adobe After Effects and Audition (CC) is a plus.

• Experience with text and logo animation is a plus.

• Ability to work with minimal direction, working independently.

• Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Ability to communicate efficiently both oral and written.

Physical Requirements:

This is a primarily sedentary position, however, standing desks are available for use. Associates may occasionally climb stairs, bend, stoop, walk, lift up to 10 lbs, and crouch as needed. Rarely associates in this position may be asked to push/pull up to 50 lbs, work in extreme conditions (heat/cold), and/or travel to company sponsored events.
