  • The Trucking Association of New York is currently seeking a full-time Communications and Marketing Manager. The Communications and Marketing Manager is responsible for the execution of the association’s internal and external communication and marketing programs across multiple channels including print, email, web, social media and public relations. The Communications and Marketing Manager will collaborate closely with other TANY staff, volunteer leadership and association members to build an effective Communications and Marketing plan and strategy. Familiarity with non-profit, membership-based organizations is preferred. The ideal candidate must be proactive, self-motivated and have excellent communication and relationship-building skills. The ideal candidate must also be able to work both independently and as part of a team, working closely with colleagues to meet association goals.

    Key Responsibilities & Requirements:

    • Create, implement and oversee communications and marketing plan to effectively promote the association, its programs, events and benefits to current and future members.
    • Develop and produce high-quality, informative, and interesting content for all association publications.
    • Create high-quality written and visual content for use on social media platforms.
    • Ensure appropriate and correct responses are provided to social media comments.
    • Promote association activities and programs.
    • Promote use of the association mobile application.
    • Promote member engagement and communication through use of online community.
    • Develop strategies to promote new and existing products and services.
    • Brainstorm and collaborate with association staff and members for new ideas and strategies.
    • Identify media and press opportunities.
    • Develop and produce press releases as needed to promote the association and/or its members.
    • Valid driver’s license

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations preferred.
    • Five years’ experience in related field.
    • Strong writing and editing skills with knowledge of AP style.
    • Ability to translate industry information into engaging content for members, consumers and news media across multiple channels.
    • Advanced comprehension of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, Access, Outlook, Power Point, Adobe)
    • Strong familiarity with use of social media networks (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, You Tube, etc.)

    Candidates will be asked to provide samples of their work, demonstrating their experience with both communications and marketing responsibilities.
