Community Development Compliance Specialist jobs in Ann Arbor, MI

Community Development Compliance Specialist ensures the organization's adherence with Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) banking laws. Reviews and analyzes lending activity data as well as other activities and policies of the organization to ensure compliance with CRA policies. Being a Community Development Compliance Specialist coordinates the preparation of required government, regulatory, and other compliance documents for all community development activities. Advises management and coordinates with legal staff on potential impact of actions. Additionally, Community Development Compliance Specialist develops and recommends guidelines and standards to assist with compliance. Has current and extensive knowledge of all CRA regulations and policies. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Community Development Compliance Specialist gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     Start dates for this internship will be either the week of April 1st, 2024 or the week of June 3rd, 2024

     

    Job description:

    Community Financial Credit Union invites you to apply for an internship with our Compliance team! The Compliance team supports the entire credit union by ensuring the Compliance Management System aligns policies, procedures and related internal controls to regulatory requirements and guidance.

     

    The Compliance intern will support the administration of regulatory risk assessments, the third-party risk management program, and the Business Continuity program. 

     

    A Day in the life of a Compliance Intern can look like:

    • Review, update, and prepare spreadsheets related to risk assessments and risk monitoring, under supervision. 
    • Update data points on software platforms (ComplySight, Riskonnect and Venminder).
    • Maintain high attention to detail in order to accurately record data in online software platforms for an extended period of time. 
    • Train on applicable regulations via online training systems. 
    • Attend training opportunities through trade associations, vendors and regulatory agencies on general Consumer Protection, Vendor Management and Business Continuity Planning/Disaster Recovery.
    • Perform other duties as directed by leadership.
