Community Development Compliance Specialist ensures the organization's adherence with Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) banking laws. Reviews and analyzes lending activity data as well as other activities and policies of the organization to ensure compliance with CRA policies. Being a Community Development Compliance Specialist coordinates the preparation of required government, regulatory, and other compliance documents for all community development activities. Advises management and coordinates with legal staff on potential impact of actions. Additionally, Community Development Compliance Specialist develops and recommends guidelines and standards to assist with compliance. Has current and extensive knowledge of all CRA regulations and policies. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Community Development Compliance Specialist gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     Compliance Specialist

    The Compliance Specialist will leverage industry knowledge and skills obtained through education and experience in the banking industry to manage aspects of Paybotic Financial’ s compliance program activities to include BSA/AML (SARs, CTRs), Reg CC, privacy, e-Sign, UDAAP, complaint monitoring, consumer protection, fraud prevention, regulatory change management, policy governance and metrics and reporting, within the cannabis industry. This position reports to the Chief Compliance Officer and cross-collaborates with stakeholders across the company as well as with external BaaS partners.

    Key Job Responsibilities

    • Oversee and enforce daily compliance, while providing guidance as it relates to fraud prevention, BSA/AML monitoring and compliance, consumer protection and banking regulations within the cannabis industry.
    • Review alerted transactions and makes determination of merchant’s account activity within the scope of the merchant’s relationship, and risk tolerance with third-party sponsor.
    • Provide training, assistance, advice and guidance in the review and analysis of merchant activity and complex transactions to identify unusual or suspicious activity for due diligence/compliance purposes.
    • Allocate surveillance work assignments, manage case and alert workflow, and report suspicious activity trends to the Chief Compliance Officer for a thorough analysis.
    • Review reports, collect data through dashboards and databases, analyzes information and reports findings to Chief Compliance Officer, and stakeholders, ensuring banking regulations, BSA/AML, identify fraud, legal contractual agreements, and third-party standard operating procedures are adhered to.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
    • 2 years of experience in an AML compliance department of a financial institution or related back-office position.
    • Strong working knowledge of BSA/AML, Red Flags, banking regulations, and compliance programs within the banking industry.
    • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities/tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment; experience evaluating compliance processes and procedures.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; demonstrated ability to handle administrative details, and routine day-to-day issues independently, assuming responsibility without direct supervision.
    • Familiarity with cannabis banking, fintech, or BaaS is a plus.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
