Are you looking for a gratifying career where you can make a difference for parents and their children from ages 3 to 5? Then join our Head Start team as an Preschool Development Specialist (PDS)! We’re looking for a person with a passion for early childhood education to partner with parents of children from ages 3 to 5 enrolled in our home-based Head Start Program in Marshall County. Help parents create a learning environment at home by teaching them new concepts, activities and skills related to child development. Plan and facilitate socializations with enrolled families and classroom experiences for the kids!

We provide ongoing training and an excellent benefit package including 12 paid holidays, generous paid time off and medical, dental and vision insurance. Educational opportunities are available through AEYC Iowa TEACH program and our partnership with Buena Vista University.

Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. This position is approximately 9 months per year, with no services or scheduled work hours for 14 weeks each summer. The person selected for this position will not start until August 2024 (beginning of the program year).  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development (PDS 3- $23.18/hour) OR Bachelor's degree in human services or related field (PDS 2- $20.38/hour)

Will Consider: Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education , Human Services or related field (or equivalent coursework) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience (PDS 1 $18.01/hour) OR CDA Certification (PDS CDA $17.26/hour). 

Preferred:

• Home visiting and/or experience working with children 0-5 years old
• Bilingual English/Spanish or Burmese Languages/English
