Community Development Compliance Specialist ensures the organization's adherence with Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) banking laws. Reviews and analyzes lending activity data as well as other activities and policies of the organization to ensure compliance with CRA policies. Being a Community Development Compliance Specialist coordinates the preparation of required government, regulatory, and other compliance documents for all community development activities. Advises management and coordinates with legal staff on potential impact of actions. Additionally, Community Development Compliance Specialist develops and recommends guidelines and standards to assist with compliance. Has current and extensive knowledge of all CRA regulations and policies. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Community Development Compliance Specialist gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     As the Assistant Director of Compliance, you will apply your dynamic abilities by:
    • Ensuring that properties managed by AHEPA Management Company (AMC) are in compliance with various State and Federal funding programs.
    • Managing compliance oversight for HUD, State, and other regulatory policies as they pertain to AMC’s programs (Property Manager Training, Yardi software support, and Fair Housing).
    • Traveling to properties to provide training and monitor the compliance components.
    The ideal candidate will possess the following:
    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred (combination of education and related experience may substitute for education)
    • 5 or more years’ experience in property management, asset management, or housing regulatory organization/agency with an emphasis in compliance oversight
    • Current compliance certifications
    • Established experience with skills with Microsoft Office Suite
    • Proven, solid knowledge of various programs in which AMC engages
    • Demonstrated knowledge of Affordable housing, Fair Housing laws and property management operations and practices
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with various levels of personnel as well as personnel from the various HUD offices, other outside organizations and AMC and individual property Board of Directors
    • Detail-oriented approach to compliance
    • Ability to work independently
    • Ability to maintain the integrity of compliance, rules, and regulations, while working collaboratively with co-workers
    • Proficient in the use of personal computers and related software application for compliance/property management and asset management
    • Must be available and able to travel
    • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license
