Community Development Compliance Specialist jobs in Orlando, FL

Community Development Compliance Specialist ensures the organization's adherence with Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) banking laws. Reviews and analyzes lending activity data as well as other activities and policies of the organization to ensure compliance with CRA policies. Being a Community Development Compliance Specialist coordinates the preparation of required government, regulatory, and other compliance documents for all community development activities. Advises management and coordinates with legal staff on potential impact of actions. Additionally, Community Development Compliance Specialist develops and recommends guidelines and standards to assist with compliance. Has current and extensive knowledge of all CRA regulations and policies. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Community Development Compliance Specialist gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Community Compliance Supervisor

  • WORK HOURS: 7:00 AM TO 3:30PM (Monday-Friday) with stand-by 

    The purpose of this position is to provide day-to-day supervision over code enforcement personnel and improve the community by investigating and evaluating residential and commercial properties for code, zoning & life safety violations.

    The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary.

    • Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee performance appraisals.
    • Coordinates, assigns and reviews work and establishes work schedules; maintains standards; monitors status of work in progress; inspects completed work assignments; answers questions; gives advice and direction as needed.
    • Oversees and reviews complaints on violations of environmental, nuisance, zoning, animal care, housing, and other code areas; reviews action taken by Code Enforcement Officers.
    • Reviews and conducts inspections of vacant properties for compliance with codes and ordinances.
    • Conducts research into complaints and reviews action taken.
    • Issues notices to those in violation of codes and ordinances.
    • Prepares cases for board meetings and presents them before the Code Enforcement Board.
    • Attends various meetings and makes presentations when necessary.
    • Enters work orders and routes to appropriate department, communicates with requestor(s) when there are special circumstances.
    • Performs related work as assigned.


    Requires an associate degree in public administration or related field supplemented by two (2) years of experience in code enforcement; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

    Must possess the following certifications by the Florida Association of Code Enforcement (FACE) or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire:

    • Level 1: Fundamentals of Code Enforcement
    • Level 2: Administrative Aspects of Code Enforcement
    • Level 3: Legal Issues in Code Enforcement
    • Level 4: Officer Safety and Field Applications
    Must possess certification by the Florida Association of Code Enforcement.
    Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history.    Physical Requirements:

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

    Mathematics:
    Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.  Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

    Language Ability:
    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

    Reasoning:
    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
