Community Development Compliance Specialist ensures the organization's adherence with Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) banking laws. Reviews and analyzes lending activity data as well as other activities and policies of the organization to ensure compliance with CRA policies. Being a Community Development Compliance Specialist coordinates the preparation of required government, regulatory, and other compliance documents for all community development activities. Advises management and coordinates with legal staff on potential impact of actions. Additionally, Community Development Compliance Specialist develops and recommends guidelines and standards to assist with compliance. Has current and extensive knowledge of all CRA regulations and policies. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Community Development Compliance Specialist gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Environmental Compliance Specialist

  • Position Summary

    The Environmental Compliance Specialist oversees and ensures that Casella complies and adjusts its processes in each division to stay up to date with various environmental issues and regulations pertaining to recycling, beneficial use of materials waste disposal, chemical use, pollution, reporting and permitting.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Prepares reports detailing environmental observations in daily, weekly, and final report format to ensure compliance and record information for Federal, state, and governmental agencies.
    • Stays current with and interprets all Federal, State, and municipal rules and regulations as they pertain to solid waste disposal and recycling activities.
    • Performs routine audits of Customer’s analytical data and methods, operations, and record keeping, ensuring Casella services and operations comply with all applicable permits and regulations.
    • Ensures completion of and assists in, as necessary, all required facility and field environmental inspections, audits and monitoring.
    • Maintains appropriate compliance records and filing systems.
    • Administers equipment and environmental sampling programs to coordinate new policies and programs.
    • Performs both internal and external audits in order to comply with programs and regulations.
    • Engages in training programs and performs and/or coordinates employee training for environmental compliance functions.
    • Assists in the preparation of permit applications, quarterly and annual regulatory reports, and other technical documents as may be necessary to support the business.
    • Participates in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company, products, sales and services and performs any other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and/or abide by our core values.

    Education, Experience & Qualifications

    The successful candidate will have an associates degree or equivalent experience, 3-5 years of customer service experience, a history of succeeding in collaborative environments, and be legally eligible to work in the US. A valid drivers license is required, as well as the ability to travel 10% of the time for periodic overnight regional meetings. A bachelors degree or equivalent experience, with interest in an environmental and/or sustainability field are preferred.

     

    A demonstrated success of meeting customers needs and an ability to work on a team to achieve desired results are expected. Strong interpersonal skills, excellence at solving routine problems and aptitude for using data to measure service success are needed.
