Community Development Compliance Specialist ensures the organization's adherence with Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) banking laws. Reviews and analyzes lending activity data as well as other activities and policies of the organization to ensure compliance with CRA policies. Being a Community Development Compliance Specialist coordinates the preparation of required government, regulatory, and other compliance documents for all community development activities. Advises management and coordinates with legal staff on potential impact of actions. Additionally, Community Development Compliance Specialist develops and recommends guidelines and standards to assist with compliance. Has current and extensive knowledge of all CRA regulations and policies. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Community Development Compliance Specialist gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Job purpose
To provide oversight of the agency's compliance with COMAR specifically as it relates to data
collection and documentation.
Duties and responsibilities
-Serve as the agency's MITC database specialist. This includes but is not limited to;
ongoing communication with MITC to continue to improve the agency's use of all aspects
of the system.
- Serve as the main contact for anyone having problems with MITC.
-Responsible for working with the agency and MITC to develop new forms and update any
exiting forms as needed.
-Provide ongoing staff training on data collection during new hire orientation and during
the monthly zoom staff meetings or other times deemed necessary. Provide
documentation of training to the Training Manager for tracking purposes.
-Responsible for tracking data collection compliance for the agency. This should be done
in conjunction with the Compliance Manager.
-Serve as a member of the Standing Committee to provide ongoing updates on data
tracking and compliance.
-Assist with residential site inspections as part of the compliance team.
-All other duties as assigned.
This position does require flexibility in the work schedule.
Qualifications include:
-High School Diploma
-Knowledge of the Developmental Disabilities Administration's services is preferred
-Experienced in Microsoft Word to include Excel
-Ability to create data tracking and generate reports for the agency in relation to
compliance with COMAR.
-Team player, ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines is a must
