Community Development Compliance Specialist ensures the organization's adherence with Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) banking laws. Reviews and analyzes lending activity data as well as other activities and policies of the organization to ensure compliance with CRA policies. Being a Community Development Compliance Specialist coordinates the preparation of required government, regulatory, and other compliance documents for all community development activities. Advises management and coordinates with legal staff on potential impact of actions. Additionally, Community Development Compliance Specialist develops and recommends guidelines and standards to assist with compliance. Has current and extensive knowledge of all CRA regulations and policies. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Position Summary:
Primary duties are Volunteer Management, Community Outreach, Marketing & Donor Development.
- Responsible for overseeing all volunteer activities, including volunteer coordination for Harvey County Circle of Hope and Summer Enrichment Activities for Kids (SEAK).
- Build relationships within Harvey County to promote Peace Connections to individuals, churches, businesses, and organizations for awareness, financial support, and recruitment of participants, partnerships, trainers, and volunteers.
- Actively cultivate connections through coordination of fundraising events and outreach activities.
- Create and publish quarterly newsletters, maintaining various social media platforms and website.
Key Responsibilities:
Volunteer Management (30%)
o Manage volunteer recruitment, training, and development programs.
o Utilize expertise in volunteer management to ensure smooth operations in conjunction with program staff.
o Develop, manage, and conduct planning and training meetings with volunteers as needed. Includes Bridges Out of Poverty Experience, Poverty Simulations, and regular training.
o Recognize volunteers regularly, and promptly, including annual appreciation activities.
Donor Development (30%)
o Demonstrate leadership by coordinating and leading volunteer teams for all fundraising events and activities.
o Manage donor database, including data entry and timely acknowledgment of donations.
o Promote Peace Connections to individuals, churches, and organizations for awareness, financial support, and recruitment of participants, partnerships, trainers, and volunteers.
o Other duties as assigned or necessary.
Community Outreach and Communication (40%)
o Contribute to the development and distribution of marketing and recruitment materials.
o Build and maintain community relationships by regularly attending community meetings and tabling events, disseminating and conveying information about programs.
o Regularly and consistently communicate with members of groups to promote programs.
o Write, edit, and publish Peace Connections quarterly newsletter.
o Manage Peace Connections' social media accounts and website to maintain up-to-date content.
Key Qualities:
- Experience working with underserved and diverse populations in community settings.
- Excellent communication and public speaking skills are beneficial for this role
- Experience in recruiting and training volunteers is highly valued
- Proficient computer skills (including Microsoft Office Suite and social media management)
- Effective and efficient event planning and coordinating
- Collaborative, bridge-builder
- Dedication to building community
- Flexibility to work some nights and weekends. Hours can be flexed within the same week.
