Community Development Loan Officer oversees the bank's CRA Programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal Community Reinvestment Act banking regulations to meet the credit needs of the area's low to moderate-income populations. Serves as the subject matter expert of CRA laws, rules, and regulations by maintaining a deep and up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements, proposed legislation, and announcements. Being a Community Development Loan Officer reviews and analyzes lending activity data and practices to ensure compliance with CRA policies. Develops, implements, and administers the overall corporate CRA plan and localized or remedial plans with guidelines and standards to assist with compliance. Additionally, Community Development Loan Officer advises management and coordinates with legal staff on the potential impact of actions. Coordinates and delivers reports to bank leadership and regulatory agencies. Ensures the bank has a positive and visible role in community economic development activities, events, and initiatives. Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Community Development Loan Officer work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.     As a Loan Officer in our credit union, you will play a crucial role in assessing, processing, and approving loan applications, ensuring the financial well-being of our members. You will work closely with individuals and businesses, guiding them through the loan application process, and providing exceptional customer service. The primary focus of this role is to evaluate the creditworthiness of applicants, manage the loan origination process, and contribute to the overall success of the credit union's lending portfolio.

     

    The Loan Officer works to find SOLUTIONS for our members in need of loan products. The main duties of this position are to interview members and potential members to determine the best loan product for them, collect all necessary information needed to make an informed decision on approving/denying a loan. Once the underwriters approve/deny the loan, the loan officer will process the loan and disburse the funds. This role requires excellent communication skills, empathy, and attention to detail.

    As a member of our team, the Loan Officer assists TPFCU in living out its mission by delivering outstanding service to internal and external members.

     

    Each day you will:

    • Interview current and potential members to determine the best product.
    • Collect necessary information and documentation for the packet.
    • Process/close loans.
    • Respond to member inquiries through various channels with QUALITY and SOLUTIONS focused service.
    • Perform various back-office duties, general ledger balancing, and processing reports.

     

    Experience in consumer lending at a financial institution is required.
