Community Development Loan Officer oversees the bank's CRA Programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal Community Reinvestment Act banking regulations to meet the credit needs of the area's low to moderate-income populations. Serves as the subject matter expert of CRA laws, rules, and regulations by maintaining a deep and up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements, proposed legislation, and announcements. Being a Community Development Loan Officer reviews and analyzes lending activity data and practices to ensure compliance with CRA policies. Commercial Loan Officer- Caledonia County, Vermont
Community National Bank seeks an experienced Commercial Loan Officer for our Caledonia County market and surrounding areas.
Successful candidate will focus on growing a commercial portfolio through building new customer relationships. Will be the primary contact for developing new client relationships while managing existing customer relationships. Will work independently to develop new business with prospects that have moderate and large complex credit needs. Maintains established market presence.
Will have several years of related experience. A strong understanding of commercial business development techniques and credit decisions with a demonstrated business development track record. Have a strong market presence with a wide network of outside referral sources for new business. Must have strong credit, and financial analysis skills.
BASIC SUMMARY:
The Commercial Loan Officer is responsible for making and servicing a variety of commercial loans and building business development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Make and service a variety of commercial loans.
· Assist the senior lender in handling larger and more complex loans.
· Provide excellence in customer service.
· Interview loan applicants.
· Obtain and direct the analysis of necessary financial data.
· Make site visits, as needed.
· Make decisions on loan applications and terms within established lending limits.
· Follow current loans to ensure complete compliance with terms.
· Provide service on approved lines of credit, equipment financing, etc.
· Call on potential customers to develop new business and call on existing customers to retain existing business.
· Operate within the Bank’s loan policy guidelines and the lender’s credit authority.
· Develop short- and long-range operating objectives.
· Comply with Code of Ethics standards and all applicable bank compliance laws and regulations.
· Perform all other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Education:Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in Finance, Banking or other related discipline. Master's degree (M.A./M.S./MBA) preferred.
· Experience:Six to eight years related, loan generation experience.
· An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
· Knowledge of conventional and/or government guidelines, processing underwriting and/or closing procedures/federal regulations governing lending.
· Other: Must have demonstrated skills in: interpersonal communication and influence skills. Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office needed. Must be able to learn new software quickly. Ability to analyze and comprehend complex financial data and provide financial alternatives. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English is required.
· Must have a valid Driver’s license.
