Community Development Loan Officer oversees the bank's CRA Programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal Community Reinvestment Act banking regulations to meet the credit needs of the area's low to moderate-income populations. Serves as the subject matter expert of CRA laws, rules, and regulations by maintaining a deep and up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements, proposed legislation, and announcements. Being a Community Development Loan Officer reviews and analyzes lending activity data and practices to ensure compliance with CRA policies. Develops, implements, and administers the overall corporate CRA plan and localized or remedial plans with guidelines and standards to assist with compliance. Additionally, Community Development Loan Officer advises management and coordinates with legal staff on the potential impact of actions. Coordinates and delivers reports to bank leadership and regulatory agencies. Ensures the bank has a positive and visible role in community economic development activities, events, and initiatives. Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Community Development Loan Officer work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. This position is accountable for delivering product and service solutions to support needs of our membership. Accountable for improving wallet share through proactive inbound and outbound call efforts and ensuring a quality member experience through our service delivery. This position is primarily responsible for handling service requests, taking telephone loan applications, and supporting contact center functions in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

    This position will also focus on:

    • Provide high touch member service going above and beyond expectations. Proactively resolves member concerns while identifying needs and promoting Blue Federal Credit Unions products and services. Provides exceptional support to new or existing members and assists internal and external members with service requests related to loan requests. Provides ongoing relationship servicing and support to current members relative to disputes, product enhancements, product recommendations and general account status. Prepares appropriate documentation and agreements relative to deposit, loans, credit cards, and cash management products and services in accordance with the policies and procedures.
    • Communicates the decision to grant credit requests to members and prepares information and documentation needed in the loan origination process. Processes member transactions as requested, recognizing red flags regarding fraud and scams.
    • Respond to member requests, seek resolution, and escalate issues and account developments as needed, provide backup and administrative support to other departments as necessary.
    • Works with other departments to gain perspective relative to the training and member requests.
    • Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws, and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

    EXPERIENCE: Three years to five years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.

    EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES: A college degree or 5 years of experience in lieu of degree.

    INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogue, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance. Typically includes subject matter experts as well as first level to middle managers.

    Full Time Position

    Compensation Range: $19.95 - $29.92

    Eligibility for employment is dependent on bondability, background and credit check.
