Community Development Loan Officer oversees the bank's CRA Programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal Community Reinvestment Act banking regulations to meet the credit needs of the area's low to moderate-income populations. Serves as the subject matter expert of CRA laws, rules, and regulations by maintaining a deep and up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements, proposed legislation, and announcements. Being a Community Development Loan Officer reviews and analyzes lending activity data and practices to ensure compliance with CRA policies. Develops, implements, and administers the overall corporate CRA plan and localized or remedial plans with guidelines and standards to assist with compliance. Additionally, Community Development Loan Officer advises management and coordinates with legal staff on the potential impact of actions. Coordinates and delivers reports to bank leadership and regulatory agencies. Ensures the bank has a positive and visible role in community economic development activities, events, and initiatives. Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Community Development Loan Officer work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.     Qualifications

    • High School Diploma required. Bachelor's degree in finance, business or related field from an accredited college or university preferred.
    • Three (3) or more years’ experience as a Commercial Loan Officer or in a related field.
    • Proven sales ability, effective interpersonal skills, and a strong desire to succeed. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
    • Must be highly self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills.
    • Knowledge of financial ratios and accounting principles and the ability to analyze and evaluate complex financial information required.
    • Proficient use of computers and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Must be willing to participate in community events on behalf of the bank.
    • Must possess a valid Texas Driver License.

    Work Schedule

    Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; hours vary and may include evening hours to attend community events.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Originate and close commercial loans for businesses of all sizes.
    • Develop strong relationships with customers to understand their financial needs and tailor solutions accordingly.
    • Negotiate credit terms and structure loan financing based on risk considerations.
    • Approve loans within specified limits. Refer loan applications outside authorized limits to management for approval.
    • Present loan packages to loan committee for approval.
    • Manage a portfolio of commercial loans and monitor loan performance.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends and other financial services and products to better meet customers’ needs.
    • Promote the bank through active community involvement and strong customer relations.
    • Develop new customer prospects and business for the bank.
