Community Development Manager manages the economic development lending activities to support or subsidize improvements in the community. Ensures company visibility is established in the area and promotes relationships with groups, agencies, and organizations in the community to identify lending and other business development opportunities. Being a Community Development Manager evaluates the current and future credit needs of the community and develops a strong understanding of the local issues and needs. Actively monitors public programs that support community development initiatives. Additionally, Community Development Manager initiates policy changes or enhancements to ensure compliance with Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and other regulations. Makes recommendations to expand and develop lending programs. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Community Development Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Community Development Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Position Summary

    As we open our newest development, the Community Curator will focus on leasing up the property by creating an engaging resident experience that is focused on improving residents’ lives and their communities and will be responsible for all daily operations. This role will require weekend availability to support the lease-up of the property. They will implement the vision of the Kaufman Development brand through a focus on programming and interaction with residents, prospects, partnering with local businesses and organizations.

    Responsibilities

    • Represent and promote the Core Values of Kaufman Development.
    • Create an engaging, authentic and genuine experience for prospects (and future current residents).
    • Lead, manage, direct and develop leasing and maintenance staff.
    • Provide an exceptional experience, including managing resident retention, monitoring timeliness and quality of work orders and ensuring aesthetic standards are maintained for all aspects of the community.
    • Ensure community meets all monthly, quarterly and annual financial and operational targets, including achieving NOI goals through revenue and expense management.
    • Knowledge of rental market and ability to create leasing strategies and campaigns specific to market.
    • Oversee and participate in all leasing and marketing activity, including executing the Kaufman sales process accurately and appropriately.
    • Responsible for setting and ensuring team is achieving leasing and occupancy goals.
    • Ensure community is compliant with all company policies and procedures, as well as any applicable regulations.
    • Efficient and timely processing of all required administrative forms, reports, and related information.
    • Responsible for collection of delinquent rent, eviction filings, and ensure all tenant landlord laws are being followed.
    • Courteous, sympathetic, and efficient handling of resident requests and complaints.
    • Develop and implement Resident Programming.
    • Responsible for seeking educational opportunities and self-improvement for personal growth/development.
    • Other functions, projects and tasks as designated by the Regional Manager.
