Under general supervision performs work of moderate difficulty in the review and acceptance of residential and commercial project applications and submittals including building, engineering, septic, right-of-way encroachment and grading to ensure completeness; and performs related duties as assigned.

Typical Duties

Minimum Qualifications

An Associate’s degree in a related field and two years of administrative experience in construction, real estate or building department setting performing review or drafting/drawing plans; OR

Three years of technical or administrative experience in a construction, real estate or building department setting performing review or drafting/drawing plans; OR

any combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

This position is non-exempt from overtime.

The ideal candidate will have three years of technical or administrative experience in a construction, real estate or building department setting performing review or drafting/drawing plans; OR, any combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

Preferred qualifications: ICC Permit Technician Certification to be obtained within one year of employment; IRC certification; experience as a Permit Technician and customer service/counter experience.
