Community Development Representative implements the economic development lending activities to support or subsidize improvements in the community. Establishes and maintains relationships with groups and organizations in the community to identify lending and other business development opportunities. Being a Community Development Representative develops an understanding of public programs and community needs to ensure effective community outreach and support development. Represents the institution within the community and is a resource for information about products and services that are available. Additionally, Community Development Representative adheres to all operational procedures and complies with Community Reinvestment Act and other regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Community Development Representative occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Title: Community Development Summer Associate

     

    The Community Development Summer Associate is responsible for supporting the Project Development team in understanding the needs of and effectively connecting with the communities in which our projects are sited. 

     

    Roles & Responsibilities:

    • Support select Project Developers, by helping:
      • Conduct due diligence on the community of proposed and/or current site locations in various markets; diligence including, but not limited to, power mapping (decision makers, other public officials, influential community members, and local advocacy groups), mapping of local permitting processes, and community needs.
      • Build outreach plan to engage, build relationships and promote understanding and support for our projects with community members referenced in community due diligence
      • Develop community engagement strategies to inform, educate, and involve local residents and community groups regarding our projects
      • Develop communication plans to keep the locality informed on the project’s progress, monitor community-level dialogue regarding the project, and combat misinformation
    • Collaborate with East Point marketing lead to refine/develop materials, including brochures, fact sheets, and presentations for community outreach and education purposes
    • Creation of relevant company process – presented to company in August
    • Additional duties as assigned

     

    Skills:

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams, Outlook, Share Point, One Drive, etc.)
    • Strong communication skills - written, verbal, and non-verbal

    Education & Experience:

    • Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a degree program
    • Preference for candidate with prior government, political campaign, and/or coalition building experience

     

    Time Commitment/Travel/Other:

    • Paid; up to 40 hours/week during our regular hours of operation, 8:30AM - 5PM (30 min lunch)
    • 8-12 weeks (June-August), based on candidate availability. Preference for longer commitments
