Community Development Representative implements the economic development lending activities to support or subsidize improvements in the community. Establishes and maintains relationships with groups and organizations in the community to identify lending and other business development opportunities. Being a Community Development Representative develops an understanding of public programs and community needs to ensure effective community outreach and support development. Represents the institution within the community and is a resource for information about products and services that are available. Additionally, Community Development Representative adheres to all operational procedures and complies with Community Reinvestment Act and other regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree. The City of Dublin, Georgia is seeking a Community Development Coordinator. This full-time position is a professional-level position that is responsible for implementing and operating programs and projects furthering the City’s efforts in the areas of economic development, neighborhood revitalization, community engagement and parks improvements, among others. Work is performed with and under the direction of the City Planner and will also include assisting with managing and maintaining the city’s various plans and designations, as well as coordinating city-wide public engagement efforts.
An employee in this class is responsible for utilizing strategic, Asset-Based Community Development principles and organizing techniques to engage stakeholders developing solutions and actions that lead to improved quality of life, cultivates and sustains strong relationships with residents and other stakeholders, and manages and conducts a variety of community-related programs. This position will work closely with community organizations and partners to develop and support new programs to further the City’s community and economic development efforts. Work requires independent judgment to determine courses of action, ability to develop and articulate presentations of facts and support conclusions and recommendations. Guidance and supervision is received from a professional superior who evaluates work through review of completed projects.
This is professional work of a specialized nature which involves strong, effective communication and problem solving and decision making. It will require working with multiple departments and the public to coordinate various phases of projects and programs related to housing, transportation, employment, transportation, and economic development.
Preferred candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications or closely related field and three (3) years of related experience that includes community development coordination, program management, community engagement, and personal computer operations
