Community Development Representative implements the economic development lending activities to support or subsidize improvements in the community. Establishes and maintains relationships with groups and organizations in the community to identify lending and other business development opportunities. Being a Community Development Representative develops an understanding of public programs and community needs to ensure effective community outreach and support development. Represents the institution within the community and is a resource for information about products and services that are available. Additionally, Community Development Representative adheres to all operational procedures and complies with Community Reinvestment Act and other regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Development Coordinator
Southington Community YMCA
Part-Time position – 20 hours per week (4 days per week, 5 hours per day; hours may increase slightly on/around Special Events)
Pay: $18.00 - $19.50/hour based on experience
Requirements:
· Qualified candidate must have 1-3 years of fundraising/special events experience
· Work well independently, and provide excellent customer service to members and
staff
· Ability to multi-task and successfully handle multiple projects and concepts at
the same time and under pressure
· Knowledge/experience in web design, Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premier Pro preferred, and Microsoft Office Suite required
· Knowledge/proficiency in social media platforms
· Must have an outgoing, friendly personality with excellent computer, oral, written and problem-solving skills
· Must be organized and able to work effectively with board members, volunteers, staff and business leaders
· Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Development Director, the Development Coordinator will provide administrative, program, and event support for the community development team in the areas of fundraising, event planning & production, and volunteer management when needed.
· Support the Southington and Cheshire Community YMCAs in their community development efforts, planning special events, Annual Campaign, and Capital Campaigns
· Assist in the development of all Branch/Association-wide advertising and marketing campaigns for Special Events, Annual Campaigns, and Capital Campaigns
· Support distribution of marketing, promotional materials both in the community and via social media/email communications, including press releases, etc.
· Learn and keep up to date on Y branding and compliance related to communications
· Incorporate Y branding into all development communications and messaging strategies for the association
· Review, update and manage overall development calendar for the Association
· Attend community events as they pertain to fund development and relationship building in the community
· Creation of marketing and promotional materials as assigned
· Some travel required
· Administrative work such as filing, record keeping, word processing, telephone, coordinating meeting schedules
· Input of donations and sponsorships into appropriate databases
· Coordinate acknowledgement letters and notes
· Assist in keeping donor files updated and accurate
· Interact with volunteers on a regular basis
· Input and maintain computer data in regards to constituent records, prospects,
donors, and solicitors
· Create various reports as needed
· Hours should be tracked daily and reported on payroll form
· Perform other responsibilities assigned by the Director that are consistent with
the community development functions of the Southington-Cheshire Community
YMCAs
· Attend Development Committee meetings as needed

· Improved tracking and evaluation of constituent contacts
· All aspects of special events for the association will be well organized, carefully
executed, and designed to meet the financial objectives
· High level of donor satisfaction, projecting positive public image, and meets expectations of our donors, volunteers, guests, and community
· The Community Development team will operate according to budget and mission, and will work to enhance the overall position of the Southington-Cheshire Community YMCAs
