Community Development Representative implements the economic development lending activities to support or subsidize improvements in the community. Establishes and maintains relationships with groups and organizations in the community to identify lending and other business development opportunities. Being a Community Development Representative develops an understanding of public programs and community needs to ensure effective community outreach and support development. Represents the institution within the community and is a resource for information about products and services that are available. Additionally, Community Development Representative adheres to all operational procedures and complies with Community Reinvestment Act and other regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Community Development Representative occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Summary

    The Community Development intern will work closely with the Community Development Department by providing support to the team through assisting with special projects, research, and general department support.

    Essential Functions

    • Understands the overall mission and model of the company, including the brand, customer, product goals, and all other aspects of service.
    • Collaborate with team to develop program materials, presentations, and reports.
    • Assist in planning and execution of community development programs and events.
    • Conduct research and identify funding sources, including grants, sponsorships, and donations.
    • Communicate with internal and external individuals and teams, including vendors, community members, partners, youth, elders, tribal leaders, etc.
    • Contribute to planning and execution of charitable giving initiatives.
    • Attend weekly team meetings.
    • Attend community meetings and events as needed.
    • Participate in training sessions, workshops, and professional development opportunities.
    • Administrative support and community outreach as needed.
    • Other duties and projects as assigned.

     

     

    Supervisory Responsibility

    This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

     

    Work Environment

    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

     

    Physical Demands

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

     

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.

     

    Travel

    Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.

     

    Experience

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office
    • Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills (written and verbal)
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to multitask and anticipate project needs.
    • Strong research skills
    • Ability to work effectively in open office environment.

     

    Education

    • Applicants from a variety of educational backgrounds will be considered. High School Diploma Required
    • Completed one full college semester working toward an undergraduate or graduate degree.

     

    Additional Eligibility Qualifications

    • Maintains a valid Driver’s License and be insurable under company insurance provider/program
